The 2009 Chardonnay reflects the new style of Chardonnay that is winning back market share from wines such as Sauvignon Blanc. The wine offers aromas of lemon sherbet and wet stones, with the palate delivering flavours reminiscent of lemon and red peach sorbet, with a mineral structure found in quality Chablis. The freshness of the acid cleans the palate beautifully and makes you keep wanting.

In 2009 , perhaps in reaction to the 2008 vintage, we picked much earlier than usual although we were all a bit surprised when the Baume came in quite so low  at only 10.5. And so we made our first wine that could be equated to a Chablis from France. But again the wine , admittedly in a lighter and crisper style, was really pleasant and very easy to drink. It remains so to this day and it may indeed prove to be the most long lived of all of our Chardonnays. It is still available although as with the 2006 the number of cases is now into double figures only.
